    Cameron Douglas-Savage is a passionate advocate for Queensland cycling and the development of the sport at both grassroots and elite levels. Cameron’s vision is to build sustainable pathways for Queensland riders, fostering community, competition, and long-term growth for the sport.

    Over the past 8 years Cameron has supported Queensland racing including the Brisbane Cycling Club Racing Team and the Women’s Development Project, helping to create pathways for riders to progress from club competition to higher levels of the sport. 

    Off the road, Cameron part of the leadership team of Blackline Track League, Australia’s premier track racing series.

    At the heart of Cameron’s commitment is his love for cycling and the community it creates. There is nothing he enjoys more than getting out on the bike with others, sharing the camaraderie and challenge of the sport. With the support of his family, Cameron’s passion extends beyond racing results — it’s about connection, resilience, and giving back to ensure Queensland cycling continues to thrive.

    David Wadsworth is a road cycling team director with a profound understanding of elite athletic performance and team dynamics.

    A Career Forged in High-Performance Sport

    With almost 30 years of clinical experience in the high-performance sports arena, David brings an unparalleled perspective to team management. His academic background, featuring Masters degrees in Sports & Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy and a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy, provides a unique foundation for his coaching philosophy. This deep knowledge of physiology and human performance allows him to craft precise, science-backed training and recovery protocols essential for the rigors of professional road racing. David's approach is centered on optimizing each rider's potential while prioritizing long-term health and career longevity, whilst enabling each athlete to contribute positively to overall team goals.

    Extensive Coaching & Development Experience

    David has a proven track record of developing talent and building winning teams cross multiple sport disciplines. As the former Queensland Road & Track Development Coach for ten years, he played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of future champions. His experience extends to coaching numerous riders who have gone on to compete in state and national teams, showcasing his ability to identify and nurture elite talent. As the founder of XLR8 Performance and the long-serving Hamilton Wheelers Club Coach, David has refined his leadership and strategic skills, making him an invaluable asset to any professional road cycling team seeking to achieve podium success.

  • Team Manager

    Alistair Lang brings a unique combination of experience in sport, health, and athlete development to his role as Team Manager of the McCarthy Homes Queensland Cycling Foundation Race Team. An accredited AusCycling road cycling coach, Alistair has been involved in building the cycling community as administrator of the Hamilton Wheelers Junior Cycling program and event manager of the Brisbane Junior Tour.

    His focus has always been on nurturing talent, supporting performance, and creating clear pathways for athletes to grow.

    Away from the race circuit, Alistair is a chiropractor and co-owner of Your Body Works alongside his wife, Christine. He graduated with distinction from Murdoch University, earning both a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Chiropractic, and has extensive experience working with children, families, and athletes. His dual background in healthcare and sport provides the team with an added dimension of performance insight, athlete wellbeing, and holistic development.

    Alistair’s philosophy is grounded in the belief that both cycling, and health are about achieving sustainable growth and balance — supporting individuals to reach their full potential, every day.

    When not working with the team or his patients, you’ll often find him out on the bike, training for his next cycling challenge or race.

  • Sports Director

    Gilbert Gutowski has been immersed in the sport for more than 30 years as both an elite racer and industry professional. Having competed across BMX, track, gravel, MTB, e-racing and his specialty, road cycling he brings real life insight into multiple disciplines along with first hand racing expertise and the resilience and commitment it takes to succeed both on and off the bike.

    From racing in France at the elite level, to helping establish Queensland’s first ever NRS team that progressed to the Continental level Ord Minnett Triple Play squad and later the highly successful Budget Forklifts professional team, Gilbert’s career has always been about more than just results. In recent years, he has continued that commitment as a dedicated on-road captain of the Balmoral Elite Team. His mentoring work with TRACTION for Young People along with his role as ride captain and coach for the BEYOND for TRACTION Charity Ride and his ongoing involvement with Balmoral Cycling Club all reflect his dedication to supporting emerging riders and young people both on and off the bike.

    Beyond racing, Gilbert has built a diverse career in the cycling industry. He has held leadership roles since 2009 and for the past six years worked as a full-time territory manager with one of Australia’s largest bicycle distributors, representing some of the world’s most recognised brands. Most recently, he founded Wild Vélo and Outdoors, an independent agency representing cycling and outdoor lifestyle brands that champion authenticity, sustainability, and community. Through this work, Gilbert focuses on building strong industry relationships, supporting athletes and retailers, and creating opportunities for cycling culture to thrive.

    Gilbert’s deep roots in the sport, combined with his degree in Sports Studies and Management, experience in brand representation, event activation, and regional outreach, as well as his fluency in French and strong European connections give him a unique ability to support riders and programs at every level. Guided by values of integrity, passion and connection, he is committed to fostering a positive and forward-thinking environment for the next generation of cyclists.

    Since 2010, Gilbert has also worked with Bikestyle Tours, leading riders across the world’s most iconic cycling roads and events, including the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, Vuelta a España, and Spring Classics. These experiences have broadened his global perspective while reinforcing his belief in the transformative power of cycling. Whether chasing professionals up legendary climbs or inspiring young riders to discover their potential, Gilbert remains driven by one purpose: to keep the passion alive, create meaningful pathways for young people and ensure cycling continues to thrive — now and into the future.
